The pair jumped two confident and composed rounds to secure a brilliant double clear and an impressive 7th place finish to start the week on a high. Building on Thursday’s success, the combination returned to the arena on Friday for another Elementary Under 25 Handicap Championship Qualifier. Once again, Annie and Julia B delivered a superb performance, producing another stylish double clear against strong competition. Their consistency and confidence were rewarded with an excellent 3rd place finish, marking a fantastic achievement at such a prestigious show.
Saturday saw the pair contest the Elementary Under 25 Championship itself, where they continued their run of impressive form. Annie and Julia B produced a brilliant clear round in the first phase, setting the standard early and becoming the first combination to jump clear in the class. Their performance secured a place in the jump-off and highlighted the partnership’s confidence and consistency throughout the week.
Drawn first to go in the jump-off, Annie rode positively and set an early target, but two unfortunate poles prevented the pair from finishing higher up the leaderboard. Despite this, Annie and Julia B still secured a very respectable 8th place finish in a highly competitive championship class to round off the show.
Overall, the Pony of the Year Show proved to be a hugely successful outing for Annie Thompson and Julia B. Multiple double clears, top-ten placings, and a podium finish demonstrated the partnership’s growing consistency and potential.
