Julia B jumped with her usual enthusiasm and scope, while Annie maintained a composed and forward ride around a challenging track.

Returning to the arena on Thursday for round two of the WB Equiline Star Championship, Annie and Julia B looked determined to build on the previous day’s experience. The pair once again produced a solid performance and looked on course for qualification for the championship final. However, an unfortunate late fence proved costly and narrowly denied them a qualifying place. Despite the disappointment, the round demonstrated the partnership’s consistency and competitiveness at this level.

The pair finished the championships on a high in the WB Equiline Star Winter Classic. Annie and Julia B delivered two polished and confident rounds to secure a fantastic double clear against a strong field of competitors. Their smooth and accurate performance was rewarded with an excellent 4th place finish, providing a brilliant way to round off the show.

Annie Thompson and Julia B enjoyed a fantastic few days at the Pony of the Year Show, producing a series of strong performances in the Elementary Under 25 classes and finishing the show with several impressive results against highly competitive fields.

The show began on Thursday with the Elementary Under 25 Handicap Championship Qualifier, where Annie and Julia B immediately found their rhythm. The pair jumped two confident and composed rounds to secure a brilliant double clear and an impressive 7th place finish to start the week on a high. Julia B looked careful and consistent throughout the class, while Annie rode positively and accurately around a demanding track.

Building on Thursday’s success, the combination returned to the arena on Friday for another Elementary Under 25 Handicap Championship Qualifier. Once again, Annie and Julia B delivered a superb performance, producing another stylish double clear against strong competition. Their consistency and confidence were rewarded with an excellent 3rd place finish, marking a fantastic achievement at such a prestigious show.

Saturday saw the pair contest the Elementary Under 25 Championship itself, where they continued their run of impressive form. Annie and Julia B produced a brilliant clear round in the first phase, setting the standard early and becoming the first combination to jump clear in the class. Their performance secured a place in the jump-off and highlighted the partnership’s confidence and consistency throughout the week.

Drawn first to go in the jump-off, Annie rode positively and set an early target, but two unfortunate poles prevented the pair from finishing higher up the leaderboard. Despite this, Annie and Julia B still secured a very respectable 8th place finish in a highly competitive championship class to round off the show.

Overall, the Pony of the Year Show proved to be a hugely successful outing for Annie Thompson and Julia B. Multiple double clears, top-ten placings, and a podium finish demonstrated the partnership’s growing consistency and potential. Competing confidently throughout the week against strong opposition, the pair can take plenty of positives and valuable experience forward into the rest of the season.


Pony of the Year Show

Julia B is a striking bay mare known for her athleticism, careful technique, and consistent performances in the British Showjumping circuit. She competes confidently at heights up to 1.30, demonstrating both power and precision across technical courses.

In the ring, Julia B stands out for her excellent bascule, tight front end, and scopey jump. She maintains a focused, forward rhythm while staying light in the hand, making her a rider-friendly horse with genuine scope and rideability.
