Raad Nasser
Role:
Rider

With more than three decades of international showjumping experience, Raad Nasser is among Jordan’s most experienced and accomplished equestrians, boasting an extraordinary track record of competitive achievements and equestrian leadership and advocacy. Raad began riding at age seven, and was soon training regularly at Amman’s Arabian Horse Club. In 1992, while still in high school, Raad won the National Showjumping Championship, going on to place third at that year’s Grand Prix in Lebanon. He continued to rack up a series of international awards and achievements throughout the ‘90s, while simultaneously earning a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and launching an auspicious career in the ICT sector. In 2005, Raad’s business acumen and athletic career joined forces when he was recruited by the Office of HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein as Director of Sport. In this capacity, Raad managed all sports-related affairs, working closely alongside FEI officials in order to organize numerous events, sponsorships, and commercial activities. He also served on the team that successfully campaigned for Princess Haya’s FEI presidency in 2006. Since 2012, Raad has trained with Team Harmony, an international showjumping team founded by the late King Hussein and currently managed by HRH Princess Haya. He is also, along with his wife Samanta Saifi, the owner and manager of Saifi Stables, where he lends his extraordinary equestrian legacy to training horses and riders across all experience levels. Raad is a trusted international horse dealer and trader, using this business venture as a means of financing his own equestrian career and those of other local competitors.
